Abstracts

This represents one of the most significant bodies of work ever prepared on behalf of the physical therapy profession. It is certainly one of the largest groupings of international abstracts ever collected. It represents both a broad cross-section of work, and reflects the multi faceted depth of physical therapy research today.

As the first Congress of the 21st century, the profession in the future will look back to this time to judge the state of knowledge at the turn of the century. This will stand as a tribute to the maturity of the profession and its readiness to evaluate its effectiveness openly and honestly.

In addition, this body of work represents the enormous effort of many people other than the individuals presenting the work at the Congress. Thousands of colleagues and co-workers must also be acknowledged. These abstracts also reflect the earnest desire of these individuals to communicate their findings for the benefit of the profession around the world.
