World Physical Therapy Day 2011 toolkit

World Physical Therapy Day falls on 8th September every year, and is an opportunity for physical therapists from all over the world to raise awareness about the crucial contribution their profession makes to keeping people well, mobile and independent. WCPT supports member organisations in their efforts with a toolkit of materials.

This toolkit, updated for World Physical Therapy Day 2011, is available for download below.

As in the three previous years, the theme for World Physical Therapy Day 2011 is Movement for Health.  The documents available for download here all include a Movement for Health logo, specially designed for World Physical Therapy Day activities.

As before, we are providing both practical advice (on organising activities and publicising your message) and information and articles that you can use as part of your activities.  The material continues to focus on the vital role physical therapists play in combating diseases of civilisation.

This year, we are providing extra materials that will help you focus on physical therapy and non-communicable disease. So there is a new factual resource on the role of physical therapy in cancer, and a new article by the WCPT President on the contribution of physical therapists in the global battle against cancer. 

We have also updated a sheet of quotations from the WCPT President, reflecting these themes. All these new materials are designed to be reproduced by member organisations in their publications, or used in press releases and publicity.
