World Physical Therapy Day 2009 toolkit

World Physical Therapy Day falls on 8th September every year, and is an opportunity for physical therapists from all over the world to raise awareness about the crucial contribution their profession makes to keeping people well, mobile and independent. WCPT supports member organisations in their efforts with a toolkit of materials.

This toolkit, updated for World Physical Therapy Day 2009, is available for download below.

As in 2008, the theme for World Physical Therapy Day 2009 is Movement for Health.  The documents available for download here all include a Movement for Health logo, specially designed for World Physical Therapy Day activities.

This year, as last, we are providing both practical advice (on organising activities and publicising your message) and information and articles that you can use as part of your activities.  The material focuses on the vital role physical therapists play in combating diseases of civilization, and this year we have added new material on the role of physical therapy in heart disease, stroke, diabetes and child obesity.  This is deliberately wide-ranging, to provide publicity opportunities in a variety of geographical settings.
