World Physical Therapy Day 2009 activities - Switzerland

This year, Physioswiss, the Swiss Association of Physiotherapy, celebrates its 90th anniversary. To mark the occasion, it is launching a “Health Promotion” campaign. On World Physical Therapy Day, 8th September 2009, a promotional vehicle, the physio bus, set off to tour the whole of Switzerland until 24th September 2009.

A pyramid was developed around the campaign by the association, so that visitors to the physio bus had the opportunity to test their personal level of fitness and to draw up, in conjunction with physiotherapists, a plan aimed at increasing their physical activity.

The physio bus was also designed to direct public attention to the fact that physiotherapy services are not only suited to treatment and rehabilitation, but also include such areas as prevention, health promotion, advice and research.
