Biography
Dr. Obuchi graduated from Tokyo National Hospital School of Rehabilitation. He received his Physical Therapist license from the Japanese government. His graduate training was from the Georgia State University where he obtained his M.Sc. from the School of Allied Heath Sciences. His doctoral degree was received from the Graduate School for Medicine at Kitasato University. He is leader of the Department for Prevention of Dependence on Long-term Care at the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology, and professor at Waseda University and Tokyo Metropolitan University. He has fully committed to elderly health policy in Japan and Tokyo Metropolitan government. Dr. Obuchi has published extensively in the areas of prevention of frailty in the elderly population, and biomechanics of geriatric movements.
