Biography
Aimee Stewart, Ph.D., B.Sc. (Physiotherapy), DPE M.Sc. (Medicine) obtained all degrees at the University of the Witwatersrand Johannesburg South Africa. Current position: Associate Professor and coordinator of the post graduate programme in the Physiotherapy Department Faculty of Health Sciences University of the Witwatersrand. My research and teaching interest include-evidence based practice, research methodology and rehabilitation particularly in chronic disease. Im have served on a number of professional bodies at various times and review for journals. I am a nationally rated researcher and have over sixty publications; and have supervised over forty masters students and six PhD students to completion. The main focus of research in our department is on the development of appropriate interventions for our population taking into consideration our specific needs as well as developing appropriate outcome measures in those instances where those from developed countries are inappropriate.
