Biography

Alan M. Jette is Professor of Health Policy and Management at Boston University's (BU) School of Public Health and is Director of the BU Health and Disability Research Institute. A physical therapist with extensive research expertise in the area of disablement and outcomes measurement, he has published widely on these topics. Dr. Jette is a member of the Leadership and Administrative Core for the Boston Claude A. Pepper Older Americans Independence Network for Translational Research in Function Promoting Therapies. He also serves as Director of Research for the New England Regional Spinal Cord Injury Network based at Boston Medical Network where he is developing a CAT outcome instrument for use in spinal cord injury research. He is a co-investigator on a clinical trial testing the efficacy of a tele-rehabilitation network for patients with multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injury, funded by the CDC. He also directs the Rehabilitation Outcomes and Effectiveness Post Doctoral Research Fellowship Program funded by the National Institute of Disability and Rehabilitation Research within the US Department of Education.
