Biography

Dr Jan Mehrholz is a physiotherapy researcher with an established international track-record in presentation and publication. Jan is on the Editorial Board of the Cochrane Stroke Group and is lead author on 3 published Cochrane reviews and 1 published Cochrane protocol.

  • Professor, Hochschule Gera' since 2008; Editorial Board member of the Cochrane Stroke Group since 2009
  • More than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals, including Cochrane reviews and multicenter randomised controlled trials. This research has been presented at national and international physiotherapy and other conferences.
  • Dr Mehrholz has broad clinical expertise as a Physiotherapist, and was working in neurological rehabilitation since 1997; since this time he was working on many physiotherapy related scientific projects; he works as an Associate Professor at the Technical University of Dresden, Faculty of Medicine
  • Dr Mehrholz is now head of the Wissenschaftliches Institut Kreischa; his main research interests are in neurological rehabilitation and neurological physiotherapy especially motor training after stroke and other neurological diseases
