Biography
Laura Lee (Dolly) Swisher, PT, MDiv, Ph.D. is Coordinator of Professional Education in the School of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences and Assistant Dean for Interprofessional Education in the College of Medicine at the University of South Florida. Dr. Swisher is a physical therapy graduate of the University of Tennessee, Memphis (1986) and received the M.Div. from Andover Newton Theological School (1978), and a PhD from Tennessee State University (1998). She is a past chair of the Ethics and Judicial Committee of the APTA, and recently served as Co-Chair of the Task Force to Revise the Core Ethics Documents. Dr. Swisher is co-author of two books: Legal and Ethical Issues in Physical Therapy (1998) and Professionalism in Physical Therapy: History, Practice, and Development (2005). She is also author of book chapters and journal articles, and has presented at local, state, national, and international conferences on physical therapy ethics.
