Biography

Dr Hing is an Associate Professor and Head of Research for the School of Rehabilitation and Occupation Studies within the Faculty of Health and Environmental Science AUT University. He has been a practicing clinician for over 25 years in the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy. He has previously been the Medical Co-ordinator for the New Zealand Hockey Association . He also currently teaches at undergraduate and post graduate level in the musculoskeletal area. He is paper leader for the Ultrasound Imaging paper within programme within the Master of Health Science pathway at the University. Dr Hing is an accredited Mulligan Concepts Teacher and has also taught spinal and peripheral joint manipulation both locally and internationally for over 15 years. He has published in the area of musculoskeletal medicine having over 50 peer review journal articles and book chapters to date. His current research interests are in the area of musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging and clinical diagnostics. Dr Hing currently supervises 5 PhD and 6 Masters Theses students. Dr Hing has been the past president of the New Zealand Manipulative Physiotherapist Association and is currently the New Zealand IFOMT representative. Dr Hing is on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journals Manual Therapy and the Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy.
