The World Confederation for Physical Therapy recognises that natural, technological and pandemic disasters have a major and long lasting impact on people and the countries in which they live. Physical therapists, as experts in physical rehabilitation, should be involved in disaster preparedness policy and planning, in preventive education, and in active rehabilitation of victims of disasters to ensure that populations affected have access to rehabilitation services to achieve the highest attainable level of health.
