Donna Bainbridge, PT, EdD, AT-Ret, received her professional education (1967) and doctorate (1990) at Boston University, and her Master of Science at University of North Carolina (1982). 

Dr. Bainbridge has been Special Olympics International Senior Global Clinical Advisor for FUNfitness & Fitness Programming since 2001.  In this capacity, she coordinates global development of fitness assessment and community-based programming for SO participants, families, and coaches.  She is also Health Coordinator for Special Olympics Montana, coordinating screening and wellness programming.

Dr. Bainbridge teaches Health Promotion and Wellness online for University of Indianapolis, and is adjunct faculty in the Public Health Program, University of Montana.  She provides locum tenens PT to rural clinics. 

Donna was a Program Director at University of Montana Rural Institute, writing and directing CDC grants related to health in adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). She has written grants for Special Olympics projects, and is currently involved with projects and peer-reviewed articles that study the application of evidence-based fall prevention programs to adults with IDD.  She is well published in the area of fitness and sport.
