Ricky Bell is an early career researcher and current PhD candidate at the School of Physiotherapy, University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. He has a Masters in Manipulative Physiotherapy with distinction from the University of Otago, and did his undergraduate Physiotherapy study at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. His Mother is from the land in the far north of New Zealand with tribal affiliations to Ngāti Hine, Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Hau, Te Rarawa, and Te Aupōuri; while his father is from Australia. Ricky is also the Vice-President of Physiotherapy New Zealand, which is the professional body representing over 3,500 physiotherapists in New Zealand. He is a guest lecturer in the area of cultural awareness in clinical practice at New Zealand’s only two physiotherapy schools. Over the last five years he has presented at multiple conference’s throughout New Zealand and WCPT 2017 is his first international conference as a presenter.
