Corina Avni is a registered physiotherapist, clinician, lecturer, researcher, and student. She has just completed a Master’s degree, laying the foundation to describe pelvic floor muscle function during gait. She has 19 years of experience in the pelvis. Her clinical practice focuses exclusively on pelvic function in men, women and children. She has a special interest in pelvic pain – both pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain and chronic pelvic pain with multiple pelvic co-morbidity. She lectures nationally and internationally on a range of pelvic function topics (courses, workshops and conferences). Corina was the driving force behind the first multi-disciplinary chronic pelvic pain initiative in South Africa (Cape Pelvic Pain Clinic). Walking and asking questions are two of her passions; future research into pelvic floor muscle function during gait is planned.
