Cornelia Barth is a physiotherapist since 1996.

With a BSc from Karolinska Institutet from Sweden and an MSc from University College London she was initially specialising in congenital and acquired brain injuries & motor learning. 

From 2001-2008 she was a lecturer for physiotherapy and allied health professions in Germany and Switzerland, teaching paediatrics, functional kinetics and motor learning as well as research methods.

In 2008 she changed her career and started working in humanitarian aid, first with Médecins sans Frontières (MSF/ Doctors without Borders) and later with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the German international Cooperation (GIZ), Handicap International, International Medical Corps, and the WCPT.

Cornelia Barth is fluent in German, English and French, and has spent most of her humanitarian career in Central Africa and the Middle East. Working as a clinician, trainer and project manager her expertise covers disaster or violence related injuries including amputations, TBI, SCI and polytrauma.

After almost a decade in contexts marked by disaster, conflict and low ressources she now holds a position as a physiotherapy technical advisor at ICRC headquarters in Geneva.
