Bio
Susanne Bernhardsson holds a PhD in Medical Science from 2015 (Linköping University, Sweden) and an MSc in Physiotherapy from 2010 (University of Gothenburg). She also holds an MBA from 1991 (Uppsala University). Her research has focused on measuring evidence-based practice and use of guidelines in physiotherapy, implementation of guidelines, clinical practice in musculoskeletal physiotherapy in primary care, and patients’ preferences for treatment and clinical decision making. She also has a special interest in implementation theory and strategies. She has been a primary care physiotherapist at Närhälsan Rehabilitation, Region Västra Götaland (Sweden’s second largest county council) since 2005. Since 2010, she has worked as lead guideline developer for clinical rehabilitation practice guidelines (occupational therapy and physiotherapy) - involving conducting rapid systematic reviews, quality appraisals, evidence syntheses, formulating evidence-based recommendations; editing and web-publishing guidelines, study summaries and other EBP materials; implementing guidelines in primary care rehabilitation; and managing/administrating guideline/EBP website. She now holds a post as research & development leader at the R&D Centre for Primary Care in Gothenburg, Sweden, where she teaches research methodology and supervises master's and PhD students.
