Antony Duttine (Bsc Physiotherapy, MSc, DrPH (cand)) has worked in international development contexts for the past 11 years. After periods in Namibia and Afghanistan, Antony’s work has focussed on advocating for rehabilitation services and policy within the global health agenda. Based in Washington DC, he has spent years honing and refining the rehabilitation message for different global health audiences.
Selected publications include Answering Global Health Needs in Low-Income Countries: Considering the Role of Physical Therapists and A Qualitative and Quantitative Study of the Surgical and Rehabilitation Response to the Earthquake in Haiti, January 2010.
Selected presentations include Global Disability and non-communicable diseases (UN HIgh Level meeting on Disability, 2013), How to ensure the SDGs are inclusive of disability World Health Assembly, Geneva (2015), Expanding the focus of rehabilitation in low and middle income countries’ (2nd International AHP conference, 2013)
Antony helped establish and is co-chair of the International Development and Disability Consortium’s health working group and board of a renowned community health organisation, Coregroup. He is holds a Masters in Development Management and is a doctorate student at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where his research focus is around cost effectiveness of rehabilitation services.
