We have defined the following expertise levels for DOVES.
Expert
A member of a World Physiotherapy member organisation, who
- has extensive experience in a specific area of practice;
- has undertaken further education to enhance their knowledge and skills in a specific area of practice (further education may take the form of academic study and/or continuing professional development); and
- is recognised by peers to be a national/international expert in a specific area of practice (for example, membership of a recognised special interest group and completion of a programme of specialisation, peer reviewed publications, or references acknowledging the level of experience in the area).
Experienced
A member of a World Physiotherapy member organisation, who
- has experience in a specific area of practice;
- has undertaken further education to enhance their knowledge in a specific area of practice; (further education may take the form of academic study and/or continuing professional development).
Interested
A member of a World Physiotherapy member organisation, who
- is interested in an area of practice;
- has undertaken some education to enhance their knowledge and skills in the area of their interest.
Information publicly available?
When you register as a DOVE you can choose whether your information is publicly available or only for use internally by World Physiotherapy. Please note, if you choose to allow your contact details to be searched publicly, it will be possible for third parties to export these contact details to a spreadsheet. If you subsequently remove your consent, then it is possible you may still be contacted using details from these previously exported spreadsheets.
Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of those offering and those seeking expertise to establish that requirements can be met and are agreed. Any financial arrangements are the responsibility of the two parties. The seeker of expertise should verify the expertise of the expert by verifying qualifications or claims and approaching the respective authorities, as necessary.
World Physiotherapy serves as the facilitator in getting people together but takes no responsibility for the collaboration. World Physiotherapy reserves the right to remove a registrant from the database without notice.
