WCPT Congress 2017

Cape Town, South Africa

We hope you will join us at the WCPT Congress in Cape Town, South Africa, July 2-4, 2017. From the WCPT:

WCPT is pleased to announce the opinion leaders and innovators in physical therapy who will present the key sessions at the WCPT Congress 2017.

Seventeen focused symposia will be presented featuring over 75 prominent international speakers from across WCPT's five regions. High quality speakers have been selected, covering cutting edge topics of vital importance for the profession across a wide variety of practice and research areas and policy perspectives. Focused symposia are always a popular feature of WCPT congresses, drawing large audiences, and providing the opportunity not just to hear from world authorities, but to engage with them in discussion.

The focused symposia are targeted to address lifespan issues across the globe. Some of these include a intensive care, pain, HIV, PT in disasters, global health, fragility fracture, critical PT, clinical practice guidelines, men’s health, and stroke. Other sessions focus on professional and public health issues.

Sunday 2nd July

Monday 3rd July
10:10-10:45: Paediatric poster walk
10:45-12:15: Focused symposium: Motor control in paediatric bladder and bowel dysfunction
16:00-17:30: Rapid five paediatric platform presentations

Tuesday 4th July
10:45-12:15: Focused symposium: From fitness training to active lifestyle coaching in paediatrics: global applications

IOPTP activities

The IOPTP will host a metting for paediatric PTs on Monday 3rd July, 12:30-13:30 in meeting rooms 1.43-1.44 at CTICC.  Tea and snacks will be served.

A paediatric networking session will be lead by IOPTP Board members on Tuesday 4th July, 13:00-14:15 in meeting rooms 1.61-1.62.  You will be encouraged to participate in a table discussion with all tables reporting out information and ideas by the end of the session.

The topics for the networking session include:

  • Core content in entry-level physical therapy education
  • International collaboration for service
  • Clinical outcome measures used across the globe
  • International collaboration for research
  • Practice based on the ICF model (performance and capacity)

Please join us for these events to network, meet new friends from all over the world, and discuss the practice of paediatric physical therapy.

American Physical Therapy Association's Section on Pediatrics 2016 Annual Conference

Registration is now open for the American Physical Therapy Association's Section on Pediatrics Annual Conference (SoPAC).

Conference dates are November 11-13, 2016 (preconference courses November 9 & 10).
