Profiling you, the delegates

So what are you, the delegates, like? According to the latest registration statistics available, there are 3538 delegates here, and you come from 114 countries. For two thirds of you, this will be your first WCPT Congress.

With some delegates expected to register on the door, the WCPT Congress 2015 in Singapore looks as if it is going to be one of physical therapy's largest gatherings. There are 908 delegates here who were at the last WCPT Congress, in Amsterdam in 2011. And 210 of you were at the Yokohama congress in 1999 - the last time that WCPT held its congress in the Asia Western Pacific Region.

Around 40% of you describe yourselves as clinicians, 22% as educators and 15% as researchers. Around 8% are pre-qualifying or post-qualifying students.

The largest contingents come from Japan (434 delegates), Singapore (393), Australia (332), United Kingdom (209), United States (207), Sweden (129), Taiwan (122) and Malaysia (102). At the other extreme, some countries have only one delegate: Bangladesh, Barbados, Benin, Bermuda, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Costa Rica, Fiji, Guatemala, Guyana, Maldives, Martinique, Niger, Oman, Romania, Slovakia, St Lucia, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela and Western Samoa.

It's fabulous that you all made it here.
