WCPT is sad to announce the passing of Inger Brøndsted, who served as the WCPT Executive Committee member for the European Region (1999-2003) and WCPT Vice President (2003-07). She graduated in 1966 as physiotherapist in Copenhagen Denmark and was elected as President of the Danish Physiotherapy Association in 1979, a role she continued until 2000.
Inger will be remembered for her devotion to the profession and dedication to the areas she felt most passionately about. She worked closely with the IRCT and the RCT (Rehabilitation Council for Torture Survivors) and was instrumental in the WCPT Policy on torture being adopted at the WCPT General Meeting in 1995.
Her involvement in international affairs since 1979, led to her belief in the importance of the profession working together on a national, regional and global level.
