Maximising your use of social media

Social media offers a great way to connect with others at the WCPT Congress, while sharing your experience with the physical therapy family around the world.

You might want to use social media to meet with colleagues, promote your work or share the event with your team at home. Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook offer the chance to capture your experience as it happens – and create new connections which will endure for years.

The Congress 2017 Twitter list

More than 140 delegates have been added to the Congress 2017 Twitter list, which is a great place to find people on the ground in Cape Town. Connect with your colleagues and keep up with the latest events and ideas directly from the conference floor.

#WCPT2017

The #WCPT2017 hashtag unites tweets from and about the congress, covering everything from unique moments to event announcements and news alerts. Use #WCPT2017 to remind followers about presentations, posters and sessions – or keep an eye on the action as it happens.

#globalPT

Every WCPT Congress covers the diversity of practice and professional issues that affect every physical therapist around the world. The #globalPT hashtag offers tweeters the chance to highlight their own clinical areas while spotlighting ideas, meetings and outcomes that are relevant to everyone.

Facebook and Congress Connect

WCPT’s Facebook page features photos, news and videos from Cape Town which delegates are encouraged to share. Congress Connect, a public group for all, is a great place to post updates and photos of your journey and experience while keeping in touch with more than 5,890 members from the global physical therapy family.

LinkedIn

As with every social media site, make sure your pictures are up-to-date to help colleagues recognise you in Cape Town. Be sure to make connections with colleagues in your field while following the official WCPT LinkedIn page for updates on activity and events throughout the year.
