WCPT has launched a new partnership with Physiopedia – the online wiki for physical therapists. Physiopedia is a free resource of physical therapy knowledge, collaboratively edited and driven by experts.
Its mission is to help improve global heath by providing universal access to physical therapy knowledge. Because Physiopedia and WCPT share many of the same objectives and values, WCPT will be promoting the Physiopedia website, and encouraging physical therapists around the world to consult it and contribute to it.
“Physiopedia has an evidence based approach to physical therapy, and offers opportunities for all physical therapists to develop as professionals,” said Tracy Bury, WCPT’s Director of Professional Policy. “WCPT thoroughly supports these aims and principles, and we hope that together our two organisations can help promote our principles, as well as our services and products.”
Physiopedia will share information about WCPT activity and resources through its networks.
Rachael Lowe, Physiopedia founder, said: “The vision of the WCPT, to move physical therapy forward so the profession is recognised globally for its significant role in improving health and wellbeing, is very much aligned with our own mission to contribute to improving global health. With such similar goals it only seems natural that both organisations should join forces to collaborate in our resembling missions.”
