American Physical Therapy Association, Illinois Physical Therapy Association and I-OM Physical Therapy celebrated World Physical Therapy day

American Physical Therapy Association

To mark World Physical Therapy Day 2013 the American Physical Therapy Association held the following activities. 

  • Move Forward Radio, the biweekly online radio program of Move Forward Radio (APTA’s consumer web site), featured two episodes dedicated to World Physical Therapy Day.  The first aired on Friday, September 6, and the second on Sunday, September 8. 
  • Additionally, a “Storify” was created in honour of World Physical Therapy Day about one PT’s experience traveling the world and providing his service pro bono for those in need.  This was shared via APTA’s social media outlets.


Illinois Physical Therapy Association

The Illinois Physical Therapy Association created a video looking at what its members are doing with physical therapy around the world.


I-OM Physical Therapy

I-OM Physical Therapy celebrated World Physical Therapy Day 2013 in the heart of the Financial District in New York City. Physical therapists spoke to the general public with the aim of increasing awareness about injuries in runners, postural causes for pain and how physical therapists can help in the healing and prevention of injuries.
