To mark World Physical Therapy Day 2013, the Kuwaiti Physical Therapy Association held their biggest celebrations to date.
A booth was set up in the largest shopping mall in Kuwait where over 3000 customers visited. Free tests were made available to the general public, including oxygen saturation, heart rate, blood pressure, cholesterol level, blood sugar level, body composition analyzer, static balance analyzer and risk of fall.
Other activities carried out included:
- a walkathon for the general public, all who participated were guided by an experienced physical therapist to teach them warm up and cool down techniques and exercises to do while walking fast.
- flyers were distributed for the public covering topics such as knee safety, back safety, school backpack, heart and lung wellness, and obesity.
The events gained excellent media coverage with almost all TV and radio channels in Kuwait covering the activities.
