Momentum for congress sessions grows

WCPT has received a record-breaking number of proposals for focused symposia to be presented at the WCPT Congress in 2015 – twice the number received for the previous congress. With interest already growing in the congress, it is now calling for proposals for pre- and post-congress courses.

Congress courses have a focus on applied knowledge and skills, and are designed to complement the main scientific programme. They can be on any topic that fits at least one of the congress programme tracks: global health, professional issues, professional practice, education and research methodology.

According to Tracy Bury, WCPT’s Professional Policy Director, the International Scientific Committee (responsible for the congress programme) has been impressed by the interest shown by potential presenters already.

“For the pre- and post-congress courses, the committee is particularly interested in seeing proposals that are evidence based, address significant contemporary issues and innovations in physical therapy, and appeal to an internationally diverse audience.”

The main call for abstracts for the congress will be issued in 2014.
