<h2>Biography</h2><p>Peter is Professor of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the School of Physiotherapy at Curtin University where he teaches postgraduate musculoskeletal physiotherapy and directs clinical research into the mechanisms and targeted management of musculoskeletal pain disorders. Peter is also a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who consults three days a week in a multi-disciplinary clinic for musculoskeletal pain disorders. Peter trained as a Physiotherapist in New Zealand in 1987 and received his Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Physiotherapy from Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia in 1990. He completed his PhD at Curtin University in 1998. He has held a 0.5 continuous position at Curtin University since 2000. Peter has published over 120 manuscripts in international peer review journals (many of these in the top ranking journals for spine and pain research). He has been chief investigator on grants worth over $(Aus) 2 million in the past 5 years and has supervised 12 PhDs. He and his students have won numerous research awards for their work. He has given over 70 keynote addresses at national and international conferences to present his work and has conducted clinical workshops in over 22 countries. He is co-founder of the website www.pain-ed.com, that seeks to promote the clinical translation of research into musculoskeletal pain disorders for health care practitioners and the broader community.</p>
