<h2>Biography</h2><p>Dr John Childs is an Associate Professor in the US Army-Baylor University Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy. He is a board-certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist, Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic and Manual Physical Therapists, and completed his PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003. Dr Childs’ research agenda is focused on injury prevention, comparative effectiveness research, randomized trials, matching the most effective treatments to subgroups of patients, and examining the outcomes of translating decision-making strategies into physical therapy practice. He has received numerous research grants from federal and professional funding agencies and has published over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts in leading scientific journals. Dr Childs currently serves as an Associate Editor for both the Physical Therapy and Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy journals. He has received numerous awards including the American Physical Therapy Associations’ Eugene Michels New Investigator Award, Jack Walker Research Award, Chattanooga Research Award, and Rose Excellence in Research Award. He has also received the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States’ Research and Development Award, Air Force Outstanding Achievement in Clinical Research Award, and has been selected as the Air Force Physical Therapist of the Year three times. Dr Childs was the founder of Evidence in Motion (www.evidenceinmotion.com), an education and business practice consultation company committed to the advancement of physical therapy practice, research, and education.</p>
