The Bangladesh Physiotherapy Association (BPA) celebrated World Physical Therapy Day 2015 on 8th September.
There were programmes in the city and Dhaka, including rallies at the Dhaka Saheed Minar and different institutes where physiotherapy education is provided. There were also free treatment camps set up and an exhibition was held demonstrating the different rehabilitation sectors where physiotherapists play a vital role.
In addition, there was a seminar supported by BPA where the Information and Communication Minister attended along with two other parliament members at Dhaka. The BPA presented a paper on the core value of the profession and the future support needed by the Bangladesh government. They were supportive.
A “human chain” and rally was also organised in July at the Dhaka press club to make a request to the government to establish physiotherapy professional rights and dignity through BPA.
