For the first time the AIC Kijabe Hospital Kenya celebrated World Physical Therapy Day.

The physical therapy department has a team of 10 PTs and two assistants. The hospital has 280 beds and is focused on serving the poor and vulnerable with best practice and compassionate care. The team has grown from one physical therapist nine years ago to what will be 13 physical therapists by November this year.

The department celebrated "Movement for Health" in matching t-shirts, taught healthy back care for the 700+ employees at KH, and consumed almost 300 cookies (not all were eaten by the physio team!).  Working in a low resource setting, they aim to provide high quality, excellent healthcare to those who are often referred from other hospitals in late stages of disease and disability. Every day offers the opportunity for creativity in solutions to promote “movement for health” in both preventative and curative forms of physiotherapy.

Thank you WCPT for the ideas for celebrating this day and for the resources you placed online to help us do so.
