World Physical Therapy Day was celebrated in The Lady Cox Rehabilitation Centre for the first time. The Centre held the event to promote physiotherapy and raise awareness of physical rehabilitation in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Minister of Health of Nagorno-Karabakh, many neurologists and traumatologists from the Republic Hospital, along with members of the public were invited. The event was divided into 3 stages:
- The physiotherapists had a presentation about physiotherapy. They explained what physiotherapy is, how important it is and how it is practised in many countries.
- The staff briefly introduced the work of The Lady Cox Rehabilitation Centre in Nagorno-Karabakh and how essential it is, as it’s the only rehabilitation centre in the whole region.
- Finally, the staff took people to the physiotherapy rooms and showed them the practical work. This part was very important, because it allowed people to see everything for themselves and to be a part of the work.
Finally, everyone was invited for food and drinks, where people could talk to each other and everyone had the opportunity to ask questions to the professionals.
