The Palestinian Physical Therapy Association (PPTA) celebrated World Physical Therapy Day 2017 in a festive atmosphere with physiotherapists, university students , academics and key persons in the health sectors all attending.  The PPTA organised the following events in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC):

  • scientific presentations
  • a physiotherapy research exhibition
  • group exercise session
  • stage show

The activities were planned to achieve definite goals and send clear messages regarding the issues that concern the PT profession in Gaza:

  • Raise awareness to the community about the importance of physical activity, particularly its relation to morbidity and mortality.
  • Raise awareness to other health professionals about the new role of physiotherapy and its role in public health issues .
  • Enhance and support the efforts of research and evidence based practice in physical therapy in Palestine by demonstrating the distinctive research conducted by students and honouring them in the presence of their relatives and colleagues.
