World Physical Therapy Day 2012 - Malaysia

Malaysian Physiotherapy Association

Physiotherapists at Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur Malaysia celebrated World Physical Therapy Day for the third time on 8th September to acknowledge the vital role that physiotherapists play in supporting populations of all ages to live to their full potential.

They marked the day by raising awareness, to both physiotherapists and their clients, of movement, physical activity and exercise through their personalised and customised exercise programmes for obesity, fitness, active ageing, diabetes and cardiac rehabilitation.

To celebrate the day, physiotherapists at the hospital organised free body composition analysis and set up an interactive information table in the physiotherapy department. Information pamphlets and fact sheets were displayed and handed out to patients, carers, visitors and staff of the hospital from 8th to 14th September. President of the Malaysian Physiotherapy Association (MPA), Mdm Yew SF was present, along with the Secretary, Mr Kuit KH, the Treasurer, Mr Tan YS, and committee member, Mdm M. Chelvi.
