Alma Viviana Silva Guerrero BPhty Hons Viviana Silva is a PhD candidate and Senior Research Assistant at Griffith University,Australia and completed her BPhty Hons at The National University of Colombia in 2000. Viviana is a physiotherapist with over ten years' clinical experience working in the fields of musculoskeletal, orthopaedics and cardiopulmonary care in Bogota, Colombia. Over the last two years she managed multiple clinical trials with Prof Peter Ebeling at The Australian Institute for Musculoskeletal Science (AIMSS), University of Melbourne. Currently she is working with Prof Michele Sterling researching the effectiveness of psychological interventions delivered by physiotherapists for musculoskeletal pain conditions. She has been a member of the executive of the international Critical Physiotherapy Network since 2015. Her critical works focuses on considering the cultural and language issues that result from the lack of integration of South American and developing countries into the physiotherapy profession and its traditional domination by the West. Viviana is also critically exploring the socio-political and economic forces that impact professional practice around the globe including sharing her experiences and reflections in relation to recent policy changes in Colombia.
