Jan Mehrholz is a physiotherapist since 1997, Professor for Physiotherapy at the University of Applied Sciences in Gera since 10 years and since more than 20 years researcher in neurological rehabilitation with special interest in the effects of physiotherapy to improve walking function, activities and mobility. Jan has a broad clinical expertise as a Physiotherapist and is working clinically in neurological rehabilitation. Since 2010 he is also appointed as an associate Professor for Public Health at the Technical University of Dresden, Faculty of Medicine. Jan is actually head of the Scientific Institute Kreischa and his main research interests lie in neurological physiotherapy. He has an established international track-record in presentation and publication. Jan is Co-Editor of the Cochrane Stroke Group and author of more than 75 full publications in peer-reviewed journals including 10 published Cochrane reviews and more than 10 published Cochrane protocols. He is also engaged in the Cochrane NeuroRehabilitation Unit.
