Dr. Ann H. Newstead, PT, DPT, PhD, GCS, NCS, CEEAA is an American Physical Therapy Association Certified Clinical Specialist in both a Neurology and Geriatrics. She is also a certified Vestibular Physical Therapist and a Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults (CEEAA). Dr. Newstead graduated from University of Alabama in Birmingham. She has worked in rehabilitation settings at The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research and the Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital. Dr. Newstead served as a researcher and educator at University of Texas Health Science Center, University of Incarnate Word, and West Coast University as Associate Professor. Dr. Newstead currently works in private practice and is owner of AHNew Physical Therapy, PLLC. In this setting, she provides physical therapy services in the clinical and home settings. Her practice specializes in holistic, individualized, and compassionate care for patients with oncologic, geriatric, neurologic, orthopedic, vestibular, and pediatric-related diagnoses. She has conducted research and published in the area of aging adults, adults with cancer, and movement analysis. She has spoken at local, national and international events related to aging and neurological aspects of patient care. Her research is currently at the Audie Murphy Veterans Administration Hospital, San Antonio, TX and is Secretary for IPT-HOPE.
