Dr. Silvi Frenkel-Toledo completed her B.PT degree (2000), followed by M.Sc.PT (2004) and Ph.D. (2014) degrees from Tel-Aviv University, Israel. She was a post-doctoral fellow in the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation at McGill University in Montreal, Canada (2015). In 2016, Dr. Frenkel-Toledo was appointed as a Research Fellow at Tel-Aviv University for the Canada-Israel research cooperation (CHIR-ISF framework; ENHANCE project). Since 2016, she holds a Full-Time Lecturer position in the Physiotherapy Department at Ariel University, Israel, where she lectures on different clinical and scientific topics. She is also a physiotherapist specialized in neurological rehabilitation with the Loewenstein Rehabilitation Hospital in Israel since 2000. Her research focuses on clinical neuroscience applications (e.g., learning by observation based on mirror-cell system activation) with particular applications in patients with stroke. She has expertise in high-precision kinematic and neurophysiological measurement techniques (MOCAP, EMG, EEG, lesion analyses) and novel methods for modulating and enhancing brain plasticity (e.g., non-invasive brain stimulation), as well as clinical research and randomized control trial methodology.
