Kamaran Dizai is a resident physiotherapist with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) based in Erbil Physical Rehabilitation Center in Iraq. He provides pre- and post- prosthetic gait training to amputees resulting from conflicts and other causes as well as various other cases that require physical rehabilitation including pediatric conditions. He is also assists in the training of student physiotherapists during clinical placements and other healthcare practitioners involved in rehabilitation. Kamaran was recently involved in providing rehabilitation services like assessments, fitting of prosthetic devices and gait training in IDP camps populated mainly by Mosul residents who had no access to prosthetic rehabilitation services due to the recent conflicts. He also assisted in the training provided to nurses at the burns unit of Emergency hospital in Erbil. Educated in Erbil Physiotherapy Institute and holding a diploma degree, kamaran has been working as a physiotherapist for the past 20 years. Before joining the ICRC, He worked for other NGOs such as ACORN, Help Age International, and Doctors of world.
