Dr Margot Skinner is Deputy Dean at the School of Physiotherapy, University of Otago, Dunedin New Zealand. Margot has a longstanding research interest in cardiopulmonary physiotherapy, including non communicable diseases and sleep health. Margot’s own PhD was centred round conservative management of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) and she has always continued to publish and undertake critical reviews in the area of OSA and sleep health as part of her research profile. Currently Margot is supervising PhD students whose research involves the links between OSA and inactivity, and OSA and resistant hypertension.
On a professional level Margot has been a member of the Executive Board of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy since 2007 and her four-year term a Vice President ends at the conclusion of the Congress.
