Cuesta-Vargas, Antonio

Chair in Physiotherapy at the University of Málaga and Principal Research of the Group “Clinimetric” at IBIMA, Spain. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Health at the Queensland University of Technology, Australia. From 2014 is a Editor of the BMC Sport Science, Medicine and Rehabilitation Journal. Areas of particular interest are clinical physiology and biomechanics with a Clinimetric approach specialized and public health and chronic disorders.

Antonio graduated as a Physiotherapist (1994), MSc in Sports Physiotherapy (1996), MSc in Manual Therapy (1999) and PhD in Human Exercise Physiology in Faculty of Medicine at the University of Malaga in 2007. He has taught in different EU Universities and supervised 23 PhD.

It currently participates in 3 European Projects (two H2020 & AAL) and an EU COST network. He has published more than 180 peer-reviewed scientific articles with a cumulative impact of over 200 JCR points (SSI) and participated in raising more than € 5,8 million in research funding.
