Birgit qualified as a physiotherapist in Germany and practised as a paediatric physiotherapist in a range of settings. She worked as a lecturer for paediatric physiotherapy at two universities in Germany. After having moved to London and registered as a UK physiotherapist she completed a master’s degree in health science at St George’s University.
In her role as Professional Adviser International Development for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) in the UK she advised members and colleagues on a range of international matters, including working and studying abroad. In 2016 she project-managed the ER-WCPT Congress in Liverpool.
Having joined the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) team as Professional Adviser she currently supports the Congress Programme Committee in developing content for the 2019 WCPT Congress in Geneva, works on the governance review project and the policy review for the WCPT General Meeting.
