Mr. Jean Damascene GASHEREBUKA is a Specialist in Physiotherapy from Rwanda. He is a BSc and MSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Witwatersrand/ Johannesburg in South Africa. Since 2007, he has been working as a Clinician at King Faisal Hospital, Rwanda with areas of interest in Orhopedics and Manual Therapy. He has been holding various leadership positions in WCPT Africa Region as Secretary (2008-2012) and as President since 2012 to 2014. At National level, he has been the President of the Rwanda Physiotherapy Association for 6 years and he is currently the Chairperson of the Rwanda Allied Health Professions Council. He has been one of the Mentors for the Physiotherapy Association of Niger for SUDA Project, a WCPT project sponsored by USAID, supervised by HI aiming at strengthening capacity building of physical therapists in three West African Countries (Mali, Niger and Senegal). Co- presenter for a paper on : A CONTEXTUAL MODEL FOR CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) TO BUILD CAPACITY IN LOW RESOURCE COUNTRIES: RWANDA,paper presented during the WCPT Congress in Capetown in 2017.
