Kristi Menear’s professional background is in special education and adapted physical education. She has practitioner experience as an early interventionist and adapted physical educator. As a professor in a teacher education program, she trained special education teachers and physical education teachers to work with students who have disabilities. She has consulted with public schools to address the needs of the students and physical educators regarding physical education/activity for students with disabilities, presenting and publishing that work to a variety of lay and professional audiences. Kristi is currently the Chair of the Department of Human Studies in the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s (United States) School of Education.
