Roselien Pas obtained in 2015 a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation science and Physiotherapy at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Brussels, Belgium), with specialization ‘Internal Disorders’. Hereafter she started to work at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and University of Antwerp as a PhD researcher under the supervision of Prof. Jo Nijs, Prof. Mira Meeus and Prof. Kelly Ickmans. Furthermore, she is a member of the research group ‘Pain in Motion’, who studies the bidirectional interplay between (chronic) pain and movement.
The objective of her PhD is to (1) investigate the involvement of central hyperexcitability in children with chronic pain and (2) to develop and test the effectiveness of pain neuroscience education (PNE) in children with functional pain related disorders. Three years after the start of her PhD she has (co-)authored 10 SCI-indexed full-text papers - 2 of which she published as first author. In addition, she co-authored 5 submitted full-text papers - 2 of which as first author.
