Ben Ellis is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Oxford Brookes University (UK). He is interested in how clinical reasoning and critical thinking are developed and how they can be taught. He is currently working towards a PhD, studying collaborative clinical reasoning in long term neurological conditions. Ben's clinical background is in neurological physiotherapy and he has previously researched unmet need in spasticity management in people with long term neurological conditions. His pedagogic interests include inquiry-based learning approaches, simulation in healthcare education and internationalisation of the curriculum, which he has recently presented on at Physiotherapy UK. Ben is interested in democratic collaborative approaches to improving practice and the role of digital media in supporting this. He jointly runs In Beta; a digital physiotherapy education project and podcast and is on the Editorial Board of OpenPhysio, an open access journal with a focus on physiotherapy education.
