Atwongyeire Night is a senior physiotherapist at Mbarara regional referral hospital, which is a public general and teaching hospital in Uganda.
She completed her higher diploma in physiotherapy in 2011, from Mulago paramedical schools in Uganda.
Her passion for Physical Activity started in 2016 when she completed an online course on physiotherapy, exercise and physical activity by Physiopedia. She did a survey on the physical activity awareness campaign in Mbarara Municipality, and this experience sparked off her love for health promotion through physical activity. She has since run several campaigns in educating the public in South West Uganda on the benefits of physical activity and has regularly given talks on local radios.
Night is also advocating for the lead role of Physiotherapists in promoting physical activity in the country through her role on the committee of the Uganda Association of Physiotherapy and involved with the establishment of a special interest group on the topic.
She is also pursuing inspiring the next generation of physiotherapists through teaching and supervising students at Mbarara University of Science and Technology.
