Shane works as the Associate Dean within the School of Physiotherapy, University of Notre Dame Australia, and coordinates the cardiorespiratory stream. Shane graduated from Sydney University [BAppSc(Physiotherapy)(1990)] then completed a research MSc. (1999) and PhD (2005), both with Curtin University. He is a cardiorespiratory specialist and Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists (2009). He also has completed Grad Certs in Uni Teaching (2007) and Not‐for‐Profit Leadership and Management (2016) at Notre Dame, and the Company Directors Course Diploma with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (2011). Shane has 31 peer-reviewed publications (21 in last 5 years), supervised 3 PhD, 1 Masters & 16 honours students, and peer-reviewed over 170 pre-publication manuscripts for over 30 journals (124 in last 5 years). He has had regular invitations to present nationally and internationally (14 in last 5 years). Beyond Notre Dame Shane is actively engaged with the physiotherapy profession. In 2016 he completed a second term as Vice‐President of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and in 2017 commenced as Chair of the Australian Physiotherapy Council. Additionally since 2011 he has been the inaugural President of the International Confederation of Cardiorespiratory Physical Therapists. Shane is on the Conference Planning Committee for WCPT Geneva 2019.
