World Physical Therapy 2011

20-23 June 2011, Amsterdam, Netherlands

Every four years WCPT hosts a scientific congress showcasing advancements in physical therapy research, practice and education. This spectacular event brings together more than 3,500 physical therapists.

In 2011 the Royal Dutch Society for Physical Therapy (KNGF) will host the congress in Amsterdam. The venue is the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Congress Centre which is well situated and easily accessible from all directions. It has its own train station and is less than 10 minutes from Schiphol Airport by rail.

Theme and programme tracks

The overall congress theme for 2011 is Moving Physical Therapy Forward. WPT2011 will be structured around five core programme tracks; global health, professional issues, professional practice, education and research methodology. Read full details of the congress theme and tracks.

Congress survey feedback

Thank you to everyone who completed the online survey at the end of 2008 to help the International Scientific Committee plan the next congress. There were over 1180 forms submitted by individual physical therapists, 50 from member organisations and 10 from subgroups. Ann Moore, Chair of the International Scientific Committee, said the feedback will be valuable in developing the programme structure and content. “Many needs and interests have to be balanced,” she said. “But the fabulous response we had to the survey bodes well for the congress". Call for abstracts

The call for abstracts will be published later in 2009.
