WCPT Country Mentor – Physical Therapist Education (SRSH Project in Tajikistan)

Consultant – two positions

70.5 billable days (minimum) in the period August 2019-May 2022
Daily rate, dependent on experience, not exceeding $400 US/day (all inc)

The World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) is an international non-profit organisation representing more than 450,000 physical therapists worldwide through its 120 member organisations. It is registered as a charity in the UK and located in London, UK.

In partnership with UCP Wheels for Humanity and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), WCPT is implementing a project to upgrade the entry-level physical therapist education programme in Tajikistan. WCPT is seeking two WCPT country mentors who will mentor the faculties of the Republican Medical College in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

The positions are offered on a consultancy basis, with a minimum of 70.5 billable days between August 2019 and May 2022. The mentors will work in a team to develop a physical therapy entry-level curriculum and provide training to existing faculties for the implementation of the curriculum, combining distance mentoring with onsite training in Dushanbe.

The successful candidates should have a minimum of eight years of experience in development and teaching entry-level physical therapist programmes, and sound understanding of WCPT education policies and standards. S/he should also have demonstrable experience of mentoring, leading teams, advocacy and capacity building. Applicants need to have the ability to communicate in English. Experience of working in a central Asia country is desirable. Applicants with working knowledge of Russian or Farsi are strongly encouraged to apply.
