Eva Swinnen (°1982) obtained her PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2014. Currently, she works as a part-time professor neurological rehabilitation and rehabilitation technology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Research Group Rehabilitation Research (ReRe). The focus of her research is on gait rehabilitation with the use of robotics and rehabilitation technology in people with central neurological disorders. She is author of more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and promoter of three ongoing PhDs. She is board member of the Belgium Society for Neurorehabilitation (BSNR), steering group of the Brussels Human Robotics Research Center (Brubotics), and scientific coordinator of the Center for Neurosciences of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (C4N). Since 2017 she works also as a teaching assistant at the University of Antwerp.
