Heather Watson is Chartered Physiotherapist with a special interest in Occupational Health & Rehabilitation based in Derbyshire in the UK. Heather is an experienced frontline musculoskeletal & persistent pain clinician who has worked in a variety of sectors over more than 20 years, including the NHS, private practice, industrial occupational health settings & return to work rehabilitation services. Heather is Director of Designed2Move Ltd who provide specialist Functional Rehabilitation Programmes for individuals with serious injuries, persistent orthopaedic & MSK pain conditions. She has lectured extensively in the UK on occupational health physiotherapy and work focused physiotherapy and rehabilitation, including delivering her course “Work, Rest & Play?” which is aimed at educating generalist primary care health care practitioners to enable provision of better advice about work to their patients. Heather is the lead tutor for the Occupational Rehabilitation course which is part of the professional competency framework for Physiotherapists working in Occupational Health in the UK as part of ACPOHE (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health & Ergonomics). In 2015 the NHS Occupational Rehabilitation Service Heather set up and led was awarded a Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Service Excellence Award and an NHS Innovation Prize for Rehabilitation.
